And, am I ever Fighting Mad!

There is a certain type of scum on the Internet I really despise, and that scum is the person who embarks upon a deliberate, calculated, malicious campaign to discredit a company and it’s software.

The software in question here is RogueRemover and RogueRemover PRO developed and marketed by MalwareBytes. RogueRemover being Freeware and RogueRemover PRO retail.

For the benefit of those who aren’t familiar with RogueRemover and what it does:

RogueRemover is a utility that can remove various rogue antispyware, antivirus and hard drive cleaning utilities. Rogue applications are applications that rather than remove spyware, provide false positives, distribute malware or spyware, advertise, or provide useless uninstallers. The main point is that rogue applications are useless and eat up system resources.

RogueRemover has the ability to completely remove WinAntiSpyware/WinAntiVirus, SpyAxe, VirusBlast, VirusBursters and many more!

This individual has been spamming various software download sites that carry this very fine application with blatant lies. He/she/it even had the balls to register at 3 security sites and post these malicious lies; MalwareBytes included.

Here is an example of their lies:

This program is a virus as it deletes PC security programs on a user’s PC under false and made-up claims such as this anti virus program was found to be rogue and should be removed. The user then gets conned into thinking that the purchased or free anti virus tool they are running is bad or malicious or rogue, and uses the rogue remover to remove their legitimate anti virus program. This Makes RogueRemover from MalwareBytes.org gain the ability to get rid of most (currently more than 300+ antispyware, anti-adware, anti-virus, anti-trojan, and other security legitimate programs) from the user’s machine making their machine vulnerable to the installations of adware, spyware, key loggers, trojans, worms, viruses and other internet born threats. Rogue Remover from MalwareBytes.org is also made by the creators of known hacker tools and viruses on the web.

Today JeanInMontana alerted me that someone was using my Nym to post negative information at Freeware Download List. Wow, I’m posting on a site that I never knew existed until Jean posted the link at Security Cadets. Here is what I supposedly had to say:

I recently had the misfortune of installing and encountering ‘bullseye’
RogurRemover installed these files. When i attempted to perform the usual remove program,bullseye had the audacity to make me take a survey before it would go away.
Attempts to circumvent the survey elicited admonishments from diabolical bullseye.
One question asked what one would consider a reasonable number of pop-up ads one shouldreceive in a month-of course ‘zero’ was not an option. These demons no, i shouldn’t insult demonswith these people-who write and distribute RogueRemover With BullsEye need to be gored and stomped by a bull!

Imagine my suprise to find that someone else is using my Nym. Using my name to slander a product I SUPPORT. Using my name to post negative information about a product that is developed by a fellow security professional. I’m mad, FIGHTING MAD.

Not only does this individual seek to discredit RogueRemover, MalwareBytes, and it’s developers. Now, he/she/it is bringing discredit upon my online persona. I pick and choose my battles carefully, but now this fight has been thrust upon me.

Who is this person? Well he/she/it has used several nyms: KayKaspersky, KayKaspers, big-bambu, Big_Bambo, BigBambo, B.Sals, Mark Erricson.

He/She/It has even gone so far as to use the Nyms of: RogueRemover, Marcin Kieczynski, Jack Morrissey, and mine ShadowPuterDude.

The IP information I have been able to obtain shows that this individual is from Cario, Egypt. However, I can’t be sure this is actually accurate.

He/She/It must really be desperate. He/She/It has very likely suffered a steep decline in income, from their ROGUE application being removed by RogueRemover.

KayKaspersky, quit writing filth, with the sole purpose of fleecing innocent people out of their hard earned cash. If you persist in marketing your filth I will continue to assist people in cleaning their systems infected with your crap.

I didn’t fire the first shot in this war. But, I can guarantee that when the smoke clears, I will be among those left standing. Can you say the same KK.
